Margaret grew up on the shores of Connecticut but spent most of her summers in Maine woods, lakes, and islands, including many years at Camp Wyonegonic in Denmark, ME. She was a teacher, museum director, college professor and dean. Presently, she is a photographer, weaver, painter and a hiker.

She graduated as an English major from Wells College in New York, received a master’s degree from Wesleyan University in Connecticut and a PhD in English medieval literature from the University of New Hampshire. During the twelve years she has lived year-round in Bridgton, she has worked with several local organizations, including The Rufus Porter Museum and Bridgton’s Community Development Committee.
