Phil grew up in Bridgton not far from Walker Memorial Hall. He attended the local high school and studied economics at the University of Southern Maine. Returning to Bridgton after college, Phil joined the Chalmers Insurance Agency in 1985. As a member of the local Chamber of Commerce, and later as President, he was instrumental in creating several new fundraising events, one of which provided for a new Chamber Information Center.

Phil enjoys meeting people and supporting his local community. Giving something back has always been important to him. He started coaching youth basketball and later, as Commissioner of the league, once again turned his attention to fundraising for children’s uniforms, basketballs, and other essential items.

Phil is active in his local church and has served many years as a deacon, trustee and on other various committees. Phil raised his family 2 doors down from Walker Memorial Hall. He loves being a Dad to his daughter and two sons. He and his wife, Jill, love to design, renovate, and decorate their two homes.
